new layout

Yeah I know its Goo, thats why I chose her ^_^ ( and no, I don't own her) . This is part of a new animation project I am wondering on for my demo reel. I changed her design so its easier for me to animate. I did design the layout, and I know it looks like the shows design because I based it on Mary Blair works ^_^ her stuff is amazing !!

I found an illustration children book in the library and I wonder if its by Mary Blair, and I guessed it right.

Also, I got a lot of question "why is Goo skipping in the desert ?" well this project was part of a storyboard . You see Goo was in the desert and she found this rope, being the curious and fun person she is, she thinks it would be a good idea it use it as a skip rope. Unfortunately it turns out the rope was a snake.

Too bad I didn't draw in the snake part, maybe I will when I get back to school.

some new stuff

Sorry guys, but just stuff from my group work. I really need to start on my other projects as well.The one above is the 3/4 down shot of the area where three children-like goblins are playing. Its just two diffrent angles of the same shot.





Here is a painting of one of the layouts I have done. Unfortunately I am not the main colourist for BG...only for animation which is later on in the next semester. However, there are some stuff needed to fixed on it for the sake of continuity compare to the other layouts in our design package.

But this is the first version before the change is made. Well at the least the main colourist loves it, so I doubt there is much to change.

By the way, layout is drawn by Faron Mar .

Something new , but something old

I was supposed to draw four main chracters , unfortunately I only did two >_< . Hopefully I will find time to paint the other two ^_^.

Ottawa , Kids Next Door and Group film concepts

Hey guys,

Its been a few days since I got back from Ottawa, I would have posted sooner but I had to quickly do some assignments when I got back. Its was cool though, I had a lot of fun going there ^_^ and I met some amazing people there. I was so excited that the creator of the t.v. Series Codename: Kids Next Door, Mr. Warburton ,was there.

I wasn't sure if I was going to meet him, ^^" I thought he was busy there talking to other people in the industry. He properly was, but he was kind enough to talk to me and even sketch my favourite character from the show, Numbuh 362 a.k.a Rachael ^_^. I hope I get to meet him in the next animation festival. I wonder if he will have a new series, the next time we will meet.

By the way I found another interesting blog, its the Kids Next Door official blog. When I look through it, I found so much amazing art works, wether its concept art or character design...I am wondering if I can ask Mr. Warburton if he can publish a small art book of some kind ^_^ I love the layouts and some of the storyboarding. Also I got some concept art paintings done, they are for my group final film project. ^o^ I am so excited about it and I really hope we can created a finished and polished film by the end of the school year.


This one is for a story called "The Starfish", its about a starfish who wants to be a star and got his wish answered when he got washed up unto the shore. There a genius monkey found him and place him in a homemade rocket that launch him into outer space.

My group is not doing that story, but we are doing the other one (the picture below)



"The King and the Sun", it talks about a greedy king who wants to own the sun, thus making everybody build him a huge tower to reach the it. In the end,he finally reached the sun, but was blinded by its powerful radiance.

The ending is kinda open-ended, we are still in developement on the story and we are still doing concept art ^_^ . Very soon we will have a pitch package ready but for now we are making more drawing.

the start of a new year

Hi hi,

Yeah its been a while since I updated, sorry about that :( . But now I got some sketches to put up to make it up to you.

Unfortunately some of my stuff is pretty old but I like it and I will be updating with some new stuff later, once my group start working on there film. :)


This one is from a layout class, it was one of the few options we where given to do almost anything we want. I am glad it turn out well...at least to me. But I love drawing birds...I don't know why and also can you guess where the couple are ?

If you guess the Cystal Palace in England , you are right :)

I love the history and the arcutiture of the building and it so beautifull, espeaically at night under a full moon. I will upload my painted version later on , so you can get the idea how the building will look at night.



Its one of earilest painting but I love it anyway :) . Its done in gouche , with a water clour approch. It was fun to paint it, espeically when I was free to make up the scenery instead of coyping it from a book, but I did reseach about clouds before I can even start paintin.

Well thats for now, I will upload more stuff later :) but for now I need to sleep -_-

......don't know what to say

Umm...nothing much today but I found another painting I did. Ok I know its a bit anime but come on, I like it still. Its really old but like my chicken sketch, there memories that are attachted to it.

I did sold one print of it in my trip to an anime converntion called Anime North. I am glad somebody still likes it ^_^



Ok here is something that is not an anime....its an an animal. It was a sketch from my trip to the zoo. There are more....just need to get them up but I really like this one, so its the first to go up ^o^.

Another concept art

Hey guys, here is another one. Its part of the same story , the fable of the "Fox and the Grapes". It a scene where the fox is looking at the grapes. ^_^ I love this scene because when I was smaller I have same type of vineyard in my old school. Too bad the grapes were sour >.<




Also I found an old sketch which I love...even if there are still problems with it , I just love the memory that comes with it. Its was a funny chicken I say at the royal winter fair a two years ago...before the whole chicken flu.
I remeber pointing to the chicken to my friends and saying "Look guys a chicken with a skirt" ^o^ the feathers where soo fluffy that it covers its legs 0_0

Its from my old assisment, it supposed to be a background or BG layer . The BG layer is place underneath another layer a character layer. Its from the story the Fox and the grapes and in this shot is where two crows are commenting on the fox trying to eat the grapes.
